River murray flood
Waikerie ferry service restored

Waikerie ferry services were restored today at 12.30pm after the River Murray level there fell below 12 metres.

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) said an inspection earlier today showed water on Taylorville Road (the ferry access road) had also receded, allowing the road to reopen and ferry services to resume.

The DIT said use of the Waikerie ferry was still limited to light vehicles, school buses, emergency vehicles, while heavy vehicles up to 19-metres in length and less than 42.5 tonnes and B-doubles were not permitted.
