IN great news for local AFL fans, Waikerie’s wildly popular Viewpoint Café is officially aboard the 2023 Murray Pioneer AFL Footy Tipping Competition bandwagon.
Viewpoint Café will be the Riverland West’s drop-off point this year, providing a convenient and friendly spot to lodge your weekly AFL tips.
In addition, Viewpoint Café – situated on the Sturt Highway – is also providing $20 vouchers for weekly winners, across 20 rounds of the season.
“With Viewpoint coming on board, we’ve now got the most weekly voucher prizes in our competition’s history,” said Murray Pioneer advertising sales manager, Glenda Malinovski.
“That’s important because in addition to the end-of-year prizes, people can pick up some great vouchers to local businesses – like Viewpoint Café – by having a good week of tipping, or just by being in the competition, via our random prize draws.
“It helps keep everyone interested all through the season, including people who aren’t right up the top of the overall leader board.”
The Murray Pioneer Footy Tipping Competition returns in March, with a trip to the Barossa on the line for this year’s competitors.
First prize is two nights’ accommodation in a Superior King Suite and breakfast for two at the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort.
The winner will also be able to nominate a second couple to accompany them, with a second package of two nights’ accommodation and breakfast for two included.
A bottle of Barossa wine in each room upon arrival will start the getaway off right, followed by a three-course dinner for four in The Cellar Kitchen regional restaurant on site at Novotel Barossa.
The total prize package is valued at over $2500.
Second prize is a $1000 voucher to spend at Berri Betta Electrical, and third is a $500 prize pack from Caudo Vineyard.
Keep your eyes peeled for the competition coupons – and full details – in The Pioneer on Wednesday, March 1, and Wednesday, March 8 to get your tips in and enter the competition before the AFL season begins.
The AFL 2023 season is set to start on March 16, when Richmond take on Carlton in a Thursday night blockbuster at the MCG.
