Arrest follows metal theft at Loxton home

A LOCAL man was arrested after he allegedly stole numerous items from a property at Loxton.
Between 22 March and 25 March, a 36-year-old man allegedly stole copper pipes from a Karoonda Highway property, at Loxton.
The man was charged with numerous offences including serious criminal trespass, theft, and unlawful possession. He was refused bail and appeared in court on Tuesday 25 March. 
The man allegedly also stole water meters and fuel cans, from a Loxton North property between 6 March and 24 March.
The theft of scrap metal can pose a danger to thieves, as well as cause significant damage to property.
Police are asking locals to be aware of any suspicious behaviour and report anything to the police assistance line (131 444).
They are also reminding scrap metal businesses to be vigilant and keep good records of their interactions in order to prevent thieves from profiting through crime.
