I think unfortunate is not a strong enough word for the sex talk that was delivered at Renmark High School (‘RHS parents kept in sex talk loop’, Pioneer, 12/2/25), It undermines all the great courses that have been delivered in schools. Shine SA provides excellent training and up-to-date resource materials that give students knowledge about topics such as healthy and unhealthy relationships, abuse, consent, and online behaviour and safety, to name a few. Dr Game asserting that schools need to ‘stay in their lane’ assumes that all homes can provide the moral, ethical and social development needed for their children. While this would be ideal, unfortunately it is not always the case. For some students, the most dangerous place to be is home.
