RIVERLAND officials hope a focus on junior numbers – including an under 13 competition – will help rebuild senior women’s football, as locals prepare for a two-team senior competition in 2025.
Just a few years after a five-team competition was staged, dwindling players numbers have seen the 2025 season reduced to just eight scheduled matches – all between Barmera-Monash and Berri.
RFL president Bruce Gehling said all options were on the table before the current fixture was adopted.
They included a combined RFLW (RFL Women) team or teams joining the Barossa
