Renmark ready for a rockin’ weekend

ONE of Renmark’s most popular annual events is once again set to bring the sounds of classic rock n’ roll to the town.
The 2025 Renmark Rocks On Festival is set to take place from Thursday 13 March, to Monday 17 March, with dancing again being held at Riverland Sunfresh.
Renmark Rocks On committee member Lyn Leuders said approximately 1000 tickets had been sold for the weekend’s events.
“We’re quite happy with the size we’re at,” Mrs Leuders said.
“We could have more people at the venue, but it starts becoming a bit impersonal.
Mrs Leuders said regular festival attendee Rhonda Watts – travelling from Melbourne – would host an intermediate rock n’ roll dance lesson for all interested participants.
“We have a regular festival attendee – Rhonda Watts, coming from Melbourne who’s a dance instructor, and she brings over a busload of 50 patrons. She will host an intermediate rock n’ roll dance lesson for all interested participants.” she said
“It’s going to be great for people who want to start off, or learn more dance moves, or get up on the floor and practice.
“Nobody judges, because we’ve all been in the same spot before.”
Mrs Leuders said performances by Melbourne-based band Memory Lane would also be a highlight for attendees.
“They’ve got a big repertoire of music, so you won’t hear any of the same songs on Saturday night that were played on Friday,” she said.
Dancing events will be held at Riverland Sunfresh on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the festival, with attendees able to BYO drinks. A gathering at the Woolshed Brewery is also being held on the Sunday.
Mrs Leuders said the Riverland Sunfresh venue continued to provide a celebratory atmosphere, and lots of room for attendees to showcase their dance moves.
“It’s a really happy environment,” she said.
“That’s what music and dance does… if we get anyone being grumpy, they don’t last long.
“The venue is fabulous and it gives us such a great space to enjoy socialising and celebrating with everyone.
