LOXTON Lutheran School is expected to undergo major capital upgrades, thanks to a government grant.
The Loxton school is expected to receive $10,000 to go towards redevelopment projects as part of the Federal Government’s capital grants program.
The program, which provides funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure, will greatly benefit the school Loxton Lutheran business manager Sarah Kruschel said.
She said any grant is always welcomed, but this one in particular will assist with the future funding as well.
“For us, it’s for the self-development of a master plan, which will then enable us to get funding in the future to do some major capital work,” Ms Kruschel said.
“The master plan will enable us to apply for future grants because without the plan, our likelihood for receiving the money would be lower.”
Member for Barker Tony Pasin said Loxton Lutheran School had a wonderful school community, and this master plan would further enhance the students’ learning environment.
“Students and teachers thrive when their schools have modern and up-to-date facilities,” he said.
“I congratulate Loxton Lutheran School on their successful grant application, and look forward to seeing the positive impact the new master plan will have on students and our community.”
Ms Kruschel said the grant would be imperative in keeping facilities updated, and as such, the school would be looking to begin development soon.
“Keeping your facilities updated is important when it comes to having modern IT, furniture and buildings, etcetera,” she said.
“An architect has already been appointed, so we are looking to move pretty quickly.”
