STUDENTS, staff, parents and carers recently took part in the Swan Reach Area School swimming carnival.
Pre-schoolers, primary and secondary school students all participated in the fun event, held on 7 February.
In a fairly close contest, the Murray Eagles defeated the Mallee Roos 746 to 710.
Swan Reach Area School SSO Trena Williamson said parents and carers supported pre-schoolers and mini sub juniors to participate in the kickboard relay, wading race, yabby catch, and tube relay.
“The senior students and school captains also assisted the mini sub juniors in these events,” she said.
“Another fun event is the dress-up swim, where students swim in their chosen costume, which is more difficult than you think,” Ms Williamson said.
“There was also a big bomb dive,” she said.
Ms Williamson said the highlight of the day was when the staff, students, and parents compete against each other in a relay.
“Last year parents did some skull doggery to secure a win,” she said.
“This year their lanes were separated by the students.
“The staff won the relay event, with the parents coming a very close second.”
The Parents and Friends also provided a sausage sizzle during the day.
